During my six months at ELHA, I gained an exciting insight into the production processes and different departments. I was able to deepen my technical knowledge and put it directly into practice in practical projects, so that I was also able to improve my manual skills. My time at ELHA helped me to better assess my skills and preferences, which helped me enormously in my career orientation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My journey at ELHA-MASCHINENBAU started in the mechatronics workshop. Here I learnt all about electrical engineering and pneumatics. Theory and practice were well combined so that I was able to put my knowledge directly into practice. The programme included creating and wiring circuit diagrams, but also programming them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I then moved to the metal workshop. There I had the chance to realise my own project: My own miniature lorry. I learnt how to analyse technical drawings and basically everything you can do with metal - filing, drilling, milling and turning. It was quite a lot of work...and fun too, of course. At the end of my time in the metal workshop, I was able to present my own lorry with some mechanical movements. It will definitely take pride of place on my desk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My last station at ELHA was assembly, quality assurance and production. Among other things, I helped dismantle machines, but also measured and checked the workpieces - because mechanical engineers take everything with \u00b5-precision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, I would like to thank the company ELHA-MASCHINENBAU for the really good support and great insights. I was able to work with nice colleagues and trainees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For me, this time was a unique opportunity to put things into practice. After concentrating solely on theory at school, ELHA gave me the opportunity to experience technology, machines and tools up close.<\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

However, I enjoyed my time in the metal workshop the most, because I was given a lot of trust here, which is why I was able to work very independently and ended up holding my own product in my hand. Even if it wasn't always easy to get there and I initially underestimated the many different work steps and techniques. In my opinion, the NRW Technical Centre offers excellent orientation opportunities between school and university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
