\nSouth-west of Detmold in the Teutoburg Forest lies one of the most popular excursion destinations in Germany and Europe.\nThis model of the Hermann is characterised by its simplicity, in keeping with the motto \"less is more\" (low-poly).\nIn our training workshop and with the help of our trainees, this extraordinary 300-piece puzzle was created from sheet metal cuttings.\nThe subsequent assembly into a Hermann was carried out in painstaking and sometimes very delicate detail work.\nWith the sword, our Hermann reaches a total height of 310 cm and weighs 170 kg.\n<\/p>\n\n

\n\t\t\tThe model was specially designed for a\n\t\t\tmav competition<\/a>\n\t\t\tThe model was built for the AMB trade fair in Stuttgart - in keeping with the theme \"Landmark of the industry\".\n\t\t\tVisitors to the AMB trade fair will have the opportunity to see the impressive Hermannsdenkmal model live on site in the\n\t\t\tAtrium<\/a>\n\t\t\tat the east entrance.\n\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t

Development of the model<\/h2>\n\n

\n\t\tIn order to be able to create a larger model at all, a true-to-scale miniature statue of Hermann was first purchased and then scanned using a 3D scanner.\n\t\tThe virtual model of Hermann was used as a template and covered with a new shell consisting of just a few polygons.\n\t\tThe polygons created in this way were then transferred to sheet metal, which could be manufactured very precisely using a TRUMPF laser cutting system.\n\t\tIn addition to the outer shell, a support structure was also built, which made it much easier to assemble the model and also ensured a high degree of stability.\n\t\tThe parts were gradually welded together and finally the entire model was coated with clear varnish.\n\t\t<\/p>\n\t<\/div>\n\t
